The Test a URL panel, in the Tools tab of a domain’s page, resolves a URL through your live configuration without redirecting anyone. Use it after every config change and before launching a campaign.

Run a test

1

Paste a URL

Enter a full URL on the tracked domain, for example https://lp.mybrand.com/ref/abc?utm_source=facebook.
2

Pick draft or published

If the domain has unpublished draft changes, a toggle lets you test against the draft (default) or the currently published config — so you can verify staged changes before they go live.
3

Read the result

The panel shows the resolution summary and three detail tabs.

What the result shows

Summary — which config was used (draft or published), the domain’s mode, the type of rule that matched (exact, glob, or fallback), the matched pattern, and the final destination URL the visitor would be redirected to. A URL that matches nothing and has no fallback shows “no match, no fallback”. Attribution tab — every attribution field parsed from the URL (UTMs in Mode A, path segments in Mode B, your manual labels in Mode C). Encoding tab — the decoded inbound path, the parsed query parameters, and the final percent-encoded destination. Useful when a URL contains spaces or special characters and you need to see exactly what the browser will receive. Visit log tab — the metadata Dava would record for this visit: inbound URL, redirect URL, mode, and attribution source.
If a URL doesn’t match the mapping you expected, check match precedence — a more specific pattern or an exact mapping may be winning.
